Sourcing Challenges
Sourcing is about identifying suppliers with the right values and behavior once reality sets in, yet distance, fatigue, and context gaps often blur early judgment at first contact — challenges that require close attention.
💬 Cross-Cultural Communication
Pricing logic, MOQ flexibility, lead-time commitments, and responsiveness often differ from how they are initially presented. Interpretation beyond language is required to see the intent.

🏭 Showroom vs. ManufacturING Reality
📦 Supply Chain & MARKET COMPATIBILITY
✈️ Travel & Fatigue
A factory may show samples or partial processes that do not reflect real assembly flow, scalability, or repeatability. True quality is visible in staffing, tooling condition and workshop discipline.
Long flight, jet lag, and the intensity of multiple visits naturally reduce awareness & clarity, making critical supplier signals easier to miss.
Sub-contracting, material & part sourcing, packaging, and export readiness often define project compatibility more than the product design itself.

Frequently asked questions
What do you pay attention to most during a factory visit?
The details most visitors overlook. Beyond the showroom, I assess production flow, organization, quality systems, tooling, and factory discipline to evaluate real manufacturing capability.
How many days should I plan for the Supplier Tour?
For a simple project, 5–7 days is usually sufficient. Allow 1–2 days for arrival and market familiarization, followed by 3–5 days of supplier visits and factory assessments.
What does a typical visit day look like?
We maximize field time by grouping suppliers within the same industrial area. A typical day includes 3–5 factory visits, capability reviews, and follow-up discussions.
Do I need a factory list, and what if my project isn't 100% ready?
No. If you already have suppliers, we'll assess them. If not, we'll source candidates based on your product requirements and objectives.
What exactly is the perimeter of your service?
I focus on supplier sourcing, factory visits, translation, capability assessment, and reporting. Price negotiation after visit, quality control, shipping, and production follow-up are separate services.
Why not simply use Alibaba?
Alibaba is excellent for discovery. Factory visits are about verification. The objective is not to find suppliers—it is to confirm which suppliers can reliably execute your project.
Can we close a deal on the spot?
Yes, but only cautiously. If the product is already available, visible, and meets your expectations, a first agreement may be possible. Otherwise, I recommend negotiating expectations, quality standards, pricing, and lead times after proper validation.
Who is the Accompagnateur?
Born and raised in France, with 13 years on the ground in China, I bridge Western expectations with Chinese manufacturing realities. My role is to help you navigate suppliers, factories, and local business culture.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
The deposit secures the reserved dates and preparation work, and is therefore non-refundable. If a trip is shortened or stopped early, unused service days may be refunded.
How do I know there are no hidden kickbacks?
You negotiate directly with suppliers. My compensation comes only from you, ensuring complete independence and transparency.
What are the payment terms?
A 30% deposit secures the dates. The remaining 70% is due before the trip begins. Full terms are detailed in the service agreement.
What happens after the trip?
You receive all supplier contacts, visit notes, and factory assessments. From there, you can continue independently or engage us for Purchasing Management or Product Development support.
